Varahi

Varahi Devi is one of the unlimited incarnations of Adi parashakti. She belongs to Ashta Matrikas . Goddess Varahi is worshipped in Ashadha Gupta Navaratri. She is the minister of Goddess Lalita Tripurasundari. Varahi is mostly worshipped in Sri Vidya or Srikula. She is considered to be the energy of Varaha ( Vishnu's incarnation) as per Markandeya Puran. According to Devi Puran ( not Devi Bhagwat Puran) She is the mother of Varaha and the wife of Bhishana Bhairava. She is one of the most ancient deities in India. Varahi Shaktipeeth is situated at Panchasagar, where Goddess Sati's upper teeth were fallen.

Shri Maha Varahi Dhyan Mantra 

ॐ वन्दे वाराहवक्त्रां वरमणिमकुटां विद्रुमश्रोत्रभूषाम् ।
हाराग्रैवेय तुङ्ग स्तनभर नमितां पीतकैशेय वस्त्राम् ।
देवीं दक्षोध्वहस्ते मुसलमथपरं लाङ्गलं वा कपालम् ।
वामाभ्यां धारयन्तीं कुवलयकलितां श्यामलां सुप्रसन्नाम् ॥

Nine Forms of Goddess Varahi ( Varahi - Navadurga) 

1) Laghu varahi 

Laghu Varahi Dhyan Mantra 


ॐ महार्णवे निपतितां उद्दरन्तीं वसुन्धराम् ।

महा दंष्ट्रां महाकायां नमामि उन्मत्त भैरवीम् ॥

Meaning:- Salutation to the Divine Mother Śrī Unmatta Bhairavi, who has rescued and lifted the Earth from the depths of the mighty oceans with Her tusks and is seated on the lap of the spiritually intoxicated Unmatta Bhairava. Please fulfill all our wishes and rescue us from all enemies, internal and external.



2) Swapna Varahi 
 

Swapna Varahi Dhyan Mantra 

ॐ मेघश्याम रुचिं मनोहरकुचां नेत्रत्रयोद्भासितां कोलास्याम् ।

शशिशेखरामचलया दंष्ट्रातले शोभिनीम् ।।

बिभ्राणां स्वकराम्बुजै रसिलतां चर्मापिपाशम् ।

सृणिं वाराही मनुचिन्तयेद्धय वरारूढां शुभालङ्कृतिम् ।।

Meaning:- We meditate upon the Divine Mother Swapna Varahi, who has the dark lustre of clouds. She is well-endowed and having three eyes, with a boar face. She’s adorned with a crescent moon on Her diadem, shining with the Earth placed on Her tusks. She holds a sword, shield, noose and a goad in Her hands. She’s mounted on a horse and bedecked with ornaments.



3) Tiraskarini Varahi 


Tiraskarini Varahi Dhyan Mantra 


ॐ मुक्त केशीं विवसनां सर्वाभरण भूषिताम् ।

स्वयोनि दर्शनोन्मुह्यत् पशुवर्गां नमाम्यहम् ॥

Meaning:- Salutation to the Divine Mother Śrī Tiraskariṇi, who is naked but ornated with precious jewelries. Her hair is bondless. After seeing her Mahamudra Yoni, I pray to her .



4) Brihad Varahi 

Brihad Varahi Dhyan Mantra 

ॐ रक्ताम्बुजे प्रेतवरासनस्थामर्थोरुकामार्भटिकासनस्थाम् ।
दंष्त्रोल्लसत्पोत्रि मुखारविन्दां कोटीर सञ्च्चिन्न हिमांशु रेखाम् ।
हलं कपालं दधतीं कराभ्यां वामौतराभ्यां मुसलेष्टदौच ।
रक्ताम्बरां रक्तपटोत्तरीयां प्रवाल कर्णाभरणां त्रिनेत्राम् ।
श्यामां समस्ताभरण स्रगाढ्यां वाराहि सञ्ज्ञां प्रणतोस्मि नित्यम् ॥
Meaning :- Salutation to the Divine Mother Brihad Varahi,  who is Seated on a red lotus emanating from the sleeping form of Mahadev, who remains motionless and discompassionate without Her presence within Him. She is in an enormous dazzling form with a boar face. She holds a plough and a skull cup on Her right arms and a pestle as well as a club(mace/gada) on Her left arms. She is adorned in crimson red garments and red corals on Her ears, with three eyes. She is dark(shyamala) complexioned like the vast space adorned with necklaces of all precious ornaments. I pray to thee, Oh Divine Mother śrī Vārāhi at all times to obtain your grace to defeat all enemies, internal and external.

5) Kirat varahi 

Kirat Varahi Dhyan Mantra 

घ्रोणी घर्घर निस्वनाञ्चितमुखां कौटिल्य चिन्ताम्पराम् ।
उग्रां कालिमकालमेघपटलच्चन्नोरु तेजस्विनीम् ।।
क्रूरं दीर्घविनील रोमपटलामश्रूयतामीश्वरीम् ।
ध्यायेत् क्रोडमुखीं त्रिलोकजननीमुग्रासि दण्डान्विताम् ।।
उग्ररूपपथरां देवीं वैरिमारण तत्पराम् ।
शत्रुपत्नी कण्ठसूत्र छेद क्षुरिकरूपिणीम् ।।
देवीं जगत्त्रये क्षोभकारक क्रोध संयुताम् ।
अतिक्रूरां दीर्घदंष्ट्रां वाराहीं चिन्तयेत्पराम् ।।
Meaning:- We meditate upon Śrī Kirāta Vārāhi, who destroys all the hostile enemies, both internal and external. She roars with a laughter that resounds throughout the Universe as oṃ. Waves of bliss emante from Her to bless all Creation. She is of a dark cloudy complexion and She is as vast as the dark space covering the entire span of the Universe. She can be attained by those who have unlearned the false knowledge and understand Her true form, as ParaBrahman or Śakti. We meditate upon on boar face and as the enforcer of all righteousness in the entire Multi-Dimensional Multi-verse. She walks the path of Truth and removes all ignorance and illusions that surround us. She destroys our fear, anger, greed, jealousy, disease, ego and lust.

Vartali Varahi Dhyan Mantra 


ॐ रक्ताम्बोरुह कर्णिकोपरिगते शावासने सम्थिथाम् ।

मुण्डस्रक्परिराजमानहृदयां नीलाश्मसद्रोचिषम् ।।

हस्ताब्जैर्मुसलं हलाभयवरान्सम्बिभ्रतीं सत्कुचां ।

वार्तालीमरुणाम्बरां त्रिनयनां वन्दे वराहाननाम् ।।


Meaning:- Salutation to the great Mother Vartali Varahi, who has three eyes and boar face. She is clad in red garments, seated on a corpse over the pericarp of a red lotus. Her chest is resplendent with a garland of skulls. Her complexion is like a blue sapphire, holding a pestle, a plough, abhaya and varada mudras and a well-endowed beautiful body.



7) Dhumra Varahi

Dhumra Varahi Dhyan Mantra 

ॐ नमस्ते धूम्रवाराहि वैरिप्राणापहारिणि ।
गोकण्ठमिव शार्धूलो गजकण्ठं यथाहरिः ।।
पिब रक्तं च देवेशि आशलमाम्सं च भक्षय ।
पशून् ददामि ते शत्रून्वन्दे त्वां शत्रुरूपिणि ।।
Meaning:- We meditate upon Śrī Dhūmra Vārāhi, who removes all the hostile enemies, both internal and external, just the way a lion would pounce upon a cow’s neck or the way Śrī Viṣṇu severed the elephant head of Gajāsurā. She drinks the blood of enemies and feeds upon them, implying that She will drink away the enmity and hatred present in us and in our rivals and consumes the animosity and all difficulties facing us. She reins Her devotees consumed by hatred and wayward in their ways, through the divine rope that She weilds. Victory over all evil and enemies is accomplished with the rope( symbol of illusion) that She weilds.


8) Nigraha Varahi 

Nigraha Varahi Dhyan Mantra 

विद्युद्रोचिर्हस्तपद्मैर्दधाना पाशं शक्तिं मुद्गरं चांकुशं च ।

नेत्रोद्भूतैर्वीतिहोत्रैस्त्रिनेत्रा वाराही नःशत्रुवर्घं क्षिणोतु ।।

Meaning:- We meditate upon Śrī Nigraha Vārāhi, who’s brilliant in appearance like lightning. She is holding a noose, a lightning weapon named śakti, mallet and an elephant goad. May the three-eyed fully enlightened Vārāhi, burn all our internal and external enemies with the fire emanating from Her eyes.

9) Astra Varahi

Astra Varahi Dhyan Mantra 

ॐ नमस्ते अस्त्र वाराहि वैरिप्राणापहारिणि ।
गोकण्टमिव शार्दूलो गजकण्ठम् यथा हरिः ।।
शत्रुरूपपशून् हत्वा आशु मांसं च भक्षय ।
वाराहि त्वां सदा वन्दे वन्द्ये चास्त्रस्वरूपिणि ।।

Meaning:- We meditate upon Śrī Astra Vārāhi, who removes all the hostile enemies, both internal and external, just the way a lion would pounce upon a cow’s neck or the way Śrī Viṣṇu severed the elephant head of Gajāsurā. She feeds us meats and takes care of our health. She removes all diseases.
