Kolhapur Mahalakshmi
Kolhapur Mahalakshmi is one of the Ashtadas Mahashaktipithas. Her temple is situated at Kolhapur, Maharashtra. She is also known as Ambabai. It is believed that Goddess Sati's Eyes were fallen here. Legend According to "Lakshmi Vijaya " and "Karavir Kshetra Mahatmya" She killed the demon Kolasur. Kolasur was her devotee. He meditated her and got supernatural powers . But he became a tyrant. He started to destroy everything. ( because his father was one of the sons of Tarakasura, they were killed before) . So all demigods went to Vishnu and asked for help. Lord vishnu worshipped Adi parashakti. Adi parashakti because complacent and took the form of Ambabai . Then she killed him.
